No 5 is governed by a management committee of 12 trustees. Trustees come from a wide variety of backgrounds, both counselling and non-counselling. All volunteer their time and experience.
Chair: Simon Proudlock
Simon completed his initial counselling training with No 5 in 1996 before leaving to run forward thinking social care programs in Boston, US. He returned on rota at No 5 May 2004, before leaving as a counsellor in April 2006 in order to fully utilise his time and skills in other areas at No 5. Simon has a strong counselling background gaining an MSc. Mental Health Counselling with the University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA in May 2006. He currently works for Reading Resource for Mental Health, the UK's first social relationship agency.
Simon has been a trustee on the Executive since March 2005. His involvement has focused on communications and securing additional funding. He was elected as Chair in June 2006
Vice Chair: Ann-Marie Frank
Born and educated in Reading and the University of London Ann-Marie has a close interest in the local community. During her career in higher education she has managed student support services and uses that experience on the No 5 Executive. She strongly supports volunteering and is keen to help No 5 meet the requirements of government for tighter audit and monitoring. Ann-Marie lives in Caversham and is married with a 10-year old son.
Treasurer: Matt Espley
Matt has been the treasurer of No 5 for a number of years and enjoys meeting the challenges that an organisation as complex as No 5 presents. His aim is to link the financial management within No 5 to the work done with young people. As part of the Executive Committee he works in the best interests of agency, ensuring that No 5 remains focussed on it's aim of supporting young people. Matt works in local government in Slough and lives in Reading.
Secretary: Vio Villaverde
Vio joined No 5 in November 2004 as a volunteer receptionist. She has learnt many aspects of the agency and now helps to train new receptionists, lends a hand with Admin duties and has been the Secretary for the Exec for over a year. She respects the objectives of No 5 and hopes that with the hard and valuable work of all of her colleagues No 5 can continue to support the community effectively.
